Power Cycle the Set Top Box or DVR

Power Cycle – This is the act of turning a piece of equipment off and then on again.

IdeaTek currently supports two families of Set Top Boxes (STBs) and DVRs. To learn how to power cycle your STB or DVR please find the correct models below.

STB (2721W) and DVR (2721WX)

    

To power cycle the 2721 series STB or DVR you will need to first locate the power supply outlet on the back of the device.

  • Disconnect the power supply from the back of the device for 5-10 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power supply to the device again.
  • Verify the On/Off Switch is in the “On” position.
  • Give the device 3-5 minutes to reboot.
  • Watch the rebooting process on your TV screen.
  • When the reboot process is finished the TV will be on the IdeaTek Welcome Channel, Channel 2.
  • Upon completion of the reboot, change channels to verify the service is working again.

*Note: Upon a reboot the guide will take up to 24 hours to completely repopulate. Rebooting a DVR device will not affect your previous recordings.

STB (3800W) and DVR (5810WX)

 

To power cycle the 3800W STB and 5810WX DVR you will need to first locate the power supply outlet on the back of the device.

  • Disconnect the power supply from the back of the device for 5-10 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power supply to the device again.
  • Verify the device is “On” with the On/Off Button.
  •  Give the device 3-5 minutes to reboot.
  • Watch the rebooting process on your TV screen.
  • When the reboot process is finished the TV will be on the IdeaTek Welcome Channel, Channel 2.
  • Upon completion of the reboot, change channels to verify the service is working again.

 *Note: Upon a reboot the guide will take up to 24 hours to completely repopulate. Rebooting a DVR device will not affect your previous recordings.
